The largest USAID project in Ukraine to date, ESP aims to enhance energy security, improve the legal and regulatory environment in the energy sector, and increase the resilience of Ukraine’s energy supply to support the country’s economic development and sustain its democracy. Tetra Tech is working closely with the Government of Ukraine to develop competitive energy markets and facilitate private sector-led energy investments to provide affordable, reliable, resilient, and secure energy for all Ukrainians. This project is expected to run through June 2025. Tetra Tech is seeking an independent consultant serving as a Translation & Interpretation Coordinator to oversee and manage translated ESP materials and documents. This is a short-term consultancy position for a period of 182 days with the possibility of an extension for another term. The number of working hours per day is up to 8. This is a Kyiv, Ukraine office-based position. ***This posting is for an independent consultant. No offers of full-time or part-time employment with Tetra Tech will be made for this position*** *Please note: only Ukrainian nationals are eligible for the position.* Scope of work Manage the work of full-time and outsourced translators, including an initial assessment of staff requests regarding time frame, quality expectations and an estimation of resources required to process the request.Distribute the documents for translation among all translators according to individual translator background and subject area expertise.Schedule and prioritize translators to provide consecutive interpretation during meetings, including working with meeting organizers to provide presentations and relevant background material ahead of time to the translator.Track and log all translated documents in the system, including an assessment of priority by time/quality/resources available; ensure documents move efficiently through established quality control checks, meet deadlines, and are cleared by appropriate staff.Process, approve and send invoices for payment to Finance Department.Check and review the translated documents before sending to the original requestor. Maintain a library of technical terms for use by all translators and ensure software is up to date.Support the communications team during events and perform other duties as requested. Minimum qualifications Bachelor’s degree in linguistics or public administration.Experience working in a translation agency. Excellent knowledge of English, Ukrainian and Russian.Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and reprioritize assignments as necessary to meet deadlines.Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office: e-tools and platforms.
