At the University of Potsdam, the Center for Information Technology and Media Management (ZIM) is seeking to fill the following permanent position at the earliest possible date: Head of the Center for Information Technology and Media Management (ZIM) Identification no. 02/2024 The working time comprises 40 hours per week (100%); the classification is according to pay group 15 of the TV-Länder pay scale. It is also possible to take on civil servants with the same status up to grade A 15 BbgBesO by way of a transfer. Your area of work: ZIM provides the University of Potsdam with IT infrastructures, technical equipment and media and IT services. The range of services includes data networks, communication, internet, high-performance computing and multimedia production. ZIM offers a wide range of consulting services for studies, teaching, research and administration. You will be responsible for the operation of ZIM with the aim of providing central information and communication technology and the associated services with high availability. They report to the CIO and coordinate the strategic development of ZIM and its services with him. Your area of responsibility includes: Personnel responsibility for over 80 employees Operational planning, personnel management and development Responsibility for the operation and further development of IT and multimedia services and their underlying infrastructure Further development of the ZIM service portfolio in coordination with the faculties and the university library Planning and organization of technical risk and emergency management in coordination with the Information Security Officer of the University of Potsdam Design and implementation of technical measures for IT security and data protection Planning and monitoring the ZIM budget Representation of ZIM within the university and in (inter)national committees and working groups You bring the following with you: an academic university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) and/or qualification for the higher general administrative service (higher non-technical administrative service) several years of professional experience in a management position in the IT or multimedia sector, preferably in a central service unit of a university Sound knowledge of information and communication technologies Process and service-oriented thinking Strong communication skills Experience in managing and motivating employees1 Results-oriented working style and high resilience business fluent in written and spoken German; good knowledge of English In addition, the following skills are desirable: Ability to work conceptually and solve problems creatively Experience in the use of IT and media in research and teaching Sound knowledge in the field of project management Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding Applications must be submitted via the University of Potsdam's online career portal by 30.05.2024, together with appropriate proof of qualifications, quoting the reference number 02/2024.
