We take responsibility for the software through its entire lifecycle. We practice continuous integration, delivery, and support of our code through to production and beyond. Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures: Be a coder; review and contribute code. Focus on performance, availability, reliability, and security. Cross-platform, lightweight & mobile-first progressive web applications by design Contribute to the definition of features for services owned by your team. Effectively communicate your and your team’s progress to your team members, your Manager, and wider Tesco colleagues. Technology stack which we are using: You will need: Around 6+ years of experience in delivering Java Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) Good English communication skills Experience with Azure, AWS or other cloud solutions Experience in system design Experience in taking ownership of a project and leading a team from technical/ project perspective Experience in setting up a direction for a project Previous engagement in mentoring less experienced colleagues in a team – helping them grow technically Proactive attitude Technology stack which we are using: Languages: Experience in delivering Java (or any other JVM language) based software solutions using modern frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, Kotlin etc. Frameworks: Micronaut or Spring Boot Cloud: Azure Architecture: Microservices DB: SQL (PostgreSQL) & NoSQL (MongoDB, Elastricsearch) Workloads on Kubernetes, Jenkins phased out in favor of Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions Monitoring & alerting: Splunk, AppDynamics, xMatters, Runscope etc. Testing: Spock, Gatling VCS: GitHub Zendesk & JIRA Additional information Hybrid working We’ve recently moved to hybrid working .
